Lieutenant Junior Grade Presberg was an officer in the Imperial fleet, and the heir of a noble family. By 788 UC (479 IC / 3588 CE) he had been captured in battle and placed in the Alliance's Econia Internment Camp. There, he cooperated with FPA captain Barnaby Costea to stage a prison riot, with Costea promising to have Presberg and his men returned to their homes in the Empire within three months.
Costea betrayed Presberg, who along with Yang Wen-li and Fyodor Patrichev detained Costea in the camp's headquarters. When Alliance inspector Murai arrived on Econia to investigate the charges against Costea, Presberg testified against the corrupt captain. After events in the camp had been sorted out, Yang lobbied Murai for the expedited release of Presberg and his compatriots back to the Empire. (SL: 'A Rebellion of Microscopic Size')
