Adalbert von Fahrenheit (Japanese: アーダルベルト・フォン・ファーレンハイト) was an Imperial high admiral who became a subordinate of Reinhard von Lohengramm. Born to a poor lesser noble similarly to Reinhard, he was originally in the Lippstadt League before joining Reinhard after the Imperial Civil War and becoming a high admiral under his new Goldenlöwe Dynasty. Along with Fritz Joseph Bittenfeld, Fahrenheit gained a reputation as being one of the Imperial navy's most aggressive offensive commanders. He was also the first officer of that rank to die, posthumously promoted to fleet admiral.

Military service

Adalbert von Fahrenheit was from a poor noble background and joined the Imperial Fleet, becoming known for his offensive tactics. Fahrenheit admitted to holding back in his performance so as not to arouse the ire of his superiors. Consequently, the Goldenbaum Dynasty leaders considered him useless and insubordinate. In January 796 UC (487 IC / 3596 CE) he was one of the 'problematic' admirals assigned to the expeditionary force of Reinhard von Lohengramm by the High Command for what would become the Battle of Astarte. He was the youngest among them and was the first one to recognize the effectiveness of Reinhard's proposed plan for the battle to avoid the Alliance encirclement. Siegfried Kircheis noticed this and recommended that Fahrenheit be the vanguard during their attack on the Alliance forces. (Overture to a New War; LOGH: 'In the Eternal Night', 'The Battle of Astarte')

In 797 UC (488 IC / 3597 CE), Vice Admiral Fahrenheit later served under High Admiral Willibald Joachim von Merkatz in the Lippstadt League at the outbreak of the Imperial Civil War and was among the League's only professional officers as opposed to nobles. After the death of Duke Otho von Braunschweig and the end of the conflict with Reinhard von Lohengramm's victory, Fahrenheit gave himself up when Geiersburg Fortress was occupied. Fahrenheit was brought before Reinhard and was recruited in Reinhard's command due to his excellent abilities. Thereafter, Fahrenheit was promoted to admiral and served Reinhard with loyalty. (LOGH: 'The Lippstadt Conspiracy', 'Bloodshed in Space', 'The Fall of Goldenbaum', 'The Day Before Destiny')

He was present in discussions among the admirals on how to respond to the abduction of the young emperor Erwin Josef II and his fleet participated in Operation Ragnarök, the plan to invade the Free Planets Alliance in 798 UC (489 IC / 3598 CE)799 UC (1 NIC / 490 IC / 3599 CE) as part of the offensive force of the main Imperial fleet along with admiral Fritz Joseph Bittenfeld. Fahrenheit took part in the Battle of Rantemario, one of the main battles of Operation Ragnarök, but was not present at the Battle of Vermillion. (LOGH: 'The Abduction of the Young Emperor', 'Operation: Ragnarök', 'Invitation to a Requiem', 'Battle After Battle')

With the establishment of Reinhard's new Goldenlöwe Dynasty shortly after the success of Operation Ragnarök, Fahrenheit would become a high admiral. When João Rebelo was murdered by Rockwell and his compatriots in an attempt to win Reinhard's favour, Fahrenheit was put in charge of executing them in turn (Fahrenheit was notably furious that they compared themselves to him). Fahrenheit's fleet was part of the first attack on Yang Wen-li's forces at Iserlohn Fortress in 800 UC (2 NIC / 491 IC / 3600 CE) during the Battle of the Corridor, and he was killed aboard his flagship while covering the retreat of the Imperial fleet from the corridor after engaging the Iserlohn forces. He was posthumously promoted to Fleet Admiral. (LOGH: 'The Battle of the Corridor: The Invincible and the Undefeated')
