History
In May 792 UC (483 IC / 3592 CE), Lennenkampf was stationed at Iserlohn Fortress and held the rank of captain. He participated in the Fifth Battle of Iserlohn and was the direct superior of Reinhard von Lohengramm (then Müsel). Later that year in December, Lennenkampf spoke to Reinhard about a mission that involved capturing Count Herxheimer, an Imperial noble attempting to defect to the Alliance. (Golden Wings, RET: 'Chapter I')
By 798 UC (489 IC / 3598 CE), Lennenkampf was promoted to the rank of admiral, and in a reversal of roles, became the subordinate of Reinhard, who was by then the supreme commander of the Imperial Fleet. In that year, Lennenkampf was present for the testing of the warp capability of Geiersburg Fortress and later took part in Operation Ragnarök. He fought at the Ninth Battle of Iserlohn under the command of Oskar von Reuenthal. Alliance admiral Dusty Attenborough managed to trick Lennenkampf, however, and dealt his fleet significant casualties. In the end, the Alliance evacuated Iserlohn Fortress and left it to the Empire. (LOGH: 'Lost Things', 'Operation: Ragnarök', 'Admiral Yang's Ark Fleet')
His fleet briefly took part in a skirmish with the Yang Fleet during the Battle of the Black Hole, in March 799 UC (1 NIC / 490 IC / 3599 CE). Lennekampf's caution during the battle resulted in a successful attack by Admiral Yang's forces, buying it enough time to escape. (LOGH: 'Battle After Battle')
With the surrender of the Alliance to the Empire in the aftermath of Operation Ragnarök and the signing of the Treaty of Ba'alat, Lennenkampf was assigned to be the Imperial high commissioner on Heinessen, the representative of Kaiser Reinhard. He had the retired Yang Wen-li watched, suspecting him of wanting to rise up in revolt against the Empire. After the Alliance government attempted to execute Yang and his subordinates rescued him, they broke into the high commissioner's office, a hotel, and took him prisoner. Yang and his supporters intended to use him as a hostage to get themselves passage off of Heinessen. (LOGH: 'Past, Present, and Future', 'Invitation to an Opera', 'Blood Running Down the Stairs: Cascade')
Lennekampf, ashamed for having been taken prisoner, committed suicide in his cell. Yang and his renegades claimed that he was still alive and took his body with them. They later returned it to the Empire by leaving it in a space capsule, along with a note explaining the circumstances of his death. As his death had been due to a dishonourable suicide, he was not posthumously promoted to fleet admiral. (LOGH: 'Blood Running Down the Stairs: Cascade', 'Against All Flags')

Background information
Lennenkampf could be a mistranslation/misspelling of Rennenkampf, an old German noble family from the east part of Germany, around Braunschweig, some of whose members later lived in Russia.
