Early service

In January 793 UC (484 IC / 3593 CE), he was serving as a supply officer and commanded a ship which supplied Commander Reinhard von Müsel's cruiser, the Hässliche Entlein, which had been operating on a secret mission in Alliance territory. (RET: 'Chapter IV')

Admiralty

Ernst von Eisenach joined the admiralty of Reinhard von Lohengramm sometime after the Lippstadt War. (LOGH: 'Portraits')

Up until Operation Ragnarök, Eisenach had not distinguished himself in battle, but had performed essential duties in rear guard duty, diversion operations and land battle support. It was for these reasons he was assigned to support Oskar von Reuenthal's operations against Iserlohn Fortress. (LOGH: 'Invitation to a Requiem')

He would play an important role in the Battle of Marr-Adetta, as he helped to take out most of the Alliance fleet.

His most significant manoeuvre came in the Battle of Shiva, where he nearly wiped out the entirety of the Iserlohn Fleet along with Fritz Josef Bittenfeld. In that manoeuvre, his fleet caused significant damage to the battleship Hyperion, killing High Admiral Merkatz. (LOGH: 'The Beautiful Maiden Wants Blood')

Personal life

Eisenach is married.

A taciturn person, Eisenach generally communicates with his subordinates with a series of hand signals, often whispering specific orders in a staff officer's ears. Though this pegs him as strict and difficult to please, one anecdote shows otherwise. At the start of the Second Ragnarök Operation, a young officer is assigned the task of bringing Eisenach his desired drinks; he is told by another bridge officer that one snap by the admiral means 'coffee', and two snaps mean 'whiskey'. However, when the admiral makes two snaps for coffee, the young orderly makes a mistake on this latter point, bringing the admiral two cups of coffee when he wanted whiskey. It seems Eisenach took this incident with stride, spending the rest of the operation having "one cup of coffee and two cups of coffee". (LOGH: 'To El Facil')

Outside of battle, Eisenach rarely speaks as well, however, on one occasion, after the Terraist assault on Fezzan in May 801 UC (3 NIC / 492 IC / 3601 CE), while playing a solo 3-D chess game, Eisenach utters the word "Checkmate" out loud, startling his fellow admirals.

"That's the first time I've heard his voice!"

"I had no idea, he can speak?"

Neidhart Müller and Fritz Josef Bittenfeld's reaction to hearing Eisenach speak (LOGH: 'The Burning of Holly House')
